Brief:
This Project Brief from Lauren Hays, Project Coordinator at the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC), proposed a Summer 2025 SCAD Serve collaboration.
MACC supports around 200 local businesses in Central Illinois through events, promotions, and educational resources. Following a recent restructuring, it seeks to expand branding and marketing to recruit new members and enhance benefits for existing ones.
Lauren outlined three possible student-led focus areas:
Campaign Development – A local “Shop Mahomet” campaign targeting residents within 30 miles.
Rebranding – Updated brand guidelines and materials for member outreach.
Website Redesign – Enhancements or co-branding for MACC’s websites to improve user experience.
The brief invited us SCAD students to create tailored solutions, with MACC providing consistent feedback and guidance to ensure real-world impact.

Recommendations :
Building on the insights and outcomes of the Co-Creation Workshops, this section outlines the strategic recommendations developed by each of the three project teams. While the co-creation process was generative, capturing stakeholder input, ideas, and aspirations, this stage focuses on translating those insights into clear, actionable roadmaps and deliverables that will guide MACC’s brand transformation.
The goal of this section is to move from exploration to execution. Each team’s recommendations not only reflect the voices and priorities uncovered during co-creation but also provide the practical tools, systems, and strategies needed for long-term implementation. Together, they create a roadmap that ensures MACC’s rebrand is not only authentic and community-driven, but also structured, sustainable, and future-ready.
Together, these recommendations provide a unified roadmap for MACC’s rebrand, one that is authentic to the community, strategically grounded, and sustainable for long-term adoption.

Solutions :
The team focused on a different dimensions of the Chamber’s identity and presence:
Branding
Developed recommendations around a refined Brand Audit, a Logo Design Process and Brand Guidelines that ensures the Chamber’s identity is distinctive.
Campaign
Translated stakeholder insights into strategies for year-round engagement, including the Social Media Playbook, Engagement Toolkit, and Idea Box, designed to strengthen MACC’s visibility.
Website
Produced recommendations to strengthen MACC’s digital presence through a UX Audit, refined information architecture, and content guide, making the website accessible, intuitive, and reflective of Mahomet’s spirit.
